Overview

 

The Nursing programme is designed for students aspiring to build successful careers in clinical practice, public health, research, education, and specialized nursing services. Aliated with INC & ABVMU, the programme oers a structured academic journey integrating theoretical learning, simulation-based training, laboratory exposure, and supervised clinical practice. Through progressive learning, students develop competencies in communication, evidence-based care, healthcare technology, ethical practice, and multidisciplinary patient management.

 

Over four years, the programme provides comprehensive academic and clinical exposure through hospital postings, community engagement, skill-based training, and professional mentoring. It prepares students to become confident and future-ready nursing professionals capable of delivering quality healthcare services while adapting to advancements in digital healthcare, patient safety, and evolving global healthcare practices.

 

Program Objectives:

  • To provide basic Nursing and Holistic care to patients in various healthcare settings.
  • To promote, restore and maintain the health of individuals, families and communities. 
  • To provide care to different aged patients like children, adults, old age and in different stages like antenatal, intra natal and postnatal period. 
  • To provide support and assistance to mothers in breastfeeding their newborns and infants.
  • To provide health teaching on various aspects to the Individual, families and communities.
  • To coordinate and collaborate with other health care team members to provide qualitative care to patients.
  • To develop knowledge and skills in leadership, management and in conducting research.

Educational Qualification:

  • 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognised board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognised by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognised by Central Government. However, Science is preferable. Three (core elective) subject marks may be taken for calculating the percentage of marks excluding the marks in English. Also, it has to be ensured that the candidate has passing marks in English.
  • 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognised by Indian Nursing Council.
  • 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational stream- healthcare science from a recognised CBSE board/State/Centre.
  • Registered ANM with passing marks.
     

Course Duration:  3 Years

 

Admission Criteria:

  • All admissions in GNM Courses (3 Years) for all Private Institutions/Colleges affiliated with UP State Medical Faculty running the GNM Program in the State of Uttar Pradesh for academic session 2025-26 will be done through this UP GNM Entrance Test (UPGET)-2025 only.   • Clinical & Specialty Care Nurse: Assists in specialized healthcare areas such as ICU, emergency care, pediatrics, maternal health, and critical care services.
  • Community Health Nurse: Promotes public health, preventive care, immunization, health awareness, and community healthcare services.
  • Nurse Educator & Trainer:  Supports nursing education, clinical demonstrations, healthcare training, and professional skill development.
  • Nursing Supervisor / Healthcare Coordinator: Assists in healthcare coordination, patient management, nursing administration, and quality care services.
  • Research & Evidence-Based Practice Roles: Participates in healthcare studies, clinical documentation, patient data analysis, and evidence-based nursing practice.
