Program Objectives

  • To provide students with in-depth knowledge of theories, practical skills and competencies in the field of medical laboratory science and technology, including clinical laboratory science, medical microbiology, clinical biochemistry, hematology, immunology and be able to perform laboratory practice as medical laboratory technologist/technician.
  • To train students in the use of advanced diagnostic tools and techniques for the detection, diagnosis and monitoring of various diseases and medical conditions.
  • To prepare students for laboratory set up and laboratory management roles and ensure compliance with regulatory standards to deliver better health care system to public.
  • To foster the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses and other clinicians to provide accurate and timely laboratory results.
  • To promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills that enable students to assess and address challenges in laboratory procedures, instrumentation and testing protocols.
  • To in still professional ethics in the practice of medical laboratory technology to contribute to society for patient safety.
  • To develop research skills of conducting experiments, analyze data and interpret research findings in medical laboratory technology.

Essential Qualification:

Candidates should possess B.Sc. Allied Health Sciences/ Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT)/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/Biotechnology/Genetics degree or any other equivalent qualification awarded by any recognized University.
