Program Objectives: 

  • Student-produced should have all the attributes of a competent pharmacologist with good theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Students should be able to apply and integrate the basic knowledge into the various principles of pharmacology in a scientific perspective with a widened view.
  • Students should be able to understand the fundamentals of basic research and further apply it in exploring opportunities to pursue advanced research.
  • Students should develop an ability to critically analyze scientific data, draw legitimate conclusions, and application of this knowledge for the evolvement of science.
  • Students should be able to imbibe and learn the habit of learning throughout life to meet the advances in the professional field by developing.

  • The candidate must be having an aggregate of 55% or above in graduation in a science stream from a recognized university.
  • MBBS / BDS / BAMS / BHMS / BUMS / B.Pharma / B.Sc. Life Sciences / B.Sc. Biology /B.Sc. Bio Chemistry / B.Sc. Nursing / BMLT / BPT / B.Tech. (Bio-Tech.) with a minimum 55% marks.

 

Course Duration:    The M.Sc. Medical Pharmacology is a 3-year postgraduate program.

First Semester:

Second Semester:

  • Medical Biochemistry
  • General Pharmacology
  • Pharmacovigilance – II

 

Third Semester:

  • Drug acting on ANS, Respiratory System & Autocoids Pharmacology
  • Medical Microbiology
  • Bioethics
  • Research Methodology  & Biostatistics


Fourth Semester: 

  • Drugs acting on CVS, GIT and Skin Disorders
  • Drugs acting on CNS and Endocrinology
  • Drug discovery and Development
  • Human rights, Gender & Environment


Fifth Semester:

  • Molecular Pharmacology, Pharmacogenomics, Gene Expression.
  • Chemotherapy, Immunomodulators & Miscellaneous agents.
  • Drug regulatory affairs - I
  • Basics of Computer and IT Skills
  • Good Lab Practicals / Good Clinical Lab Practices

 

Sixth Semester:

  • Bioassay & Drug Screening methods
  • Recent advances in Basic & Clinical Pharmacology
  • Drug regulatory affairs - II
  • BLS & ACLS [AHA Certified]
  • General Psychology
  • Project Work / Dissertation
  • Clinical Research Associate: Assists in clinical trials, study coordination, and research documentation.
  • Drug Safety Associate: Monitors adverse drug reactions & supports pharmacovigilance activities.
  • Regulatory Affairs Specialist: Supports drug approval, compliance, and regulatory documentation.
  • Toxicologist: Studies harmful eects of drugs and chemicals and supports safety evaluation.
  • Research Associate: Works in drug evaluation, laboratory research, and data analysis
  • Academician / Educator: Teaches pharmacology and contributes to academic and research development.
